Generally speaking we do not teach music reading, music theory, the playing techniques of 'classical' or other complex music instruments, theoretical psychology or psychopathology, nor physical anatomy.

You do not need to be a musician, or be practising regularly on a musical instrument, nor do you indeed need to know how to read music.

Throughout the training your personal experience will be encouraged and will be more important than any theory. Discovering more about the impact of sounds will first of all lead you to discover more about yourself and about silence. Only through knowing ourselves better are we able to really understand our fellow beings.

The psycho-energetic approach is similar to transpersonal therapies and is explored primarily through our personal experience and feelings.

This approach is transpersonal in so far as it does not focus on pathologies, childhood traumas or the paramount sufferings of life. We will encourage everyone to find their link to their inner source and thus to higher consciousness and to understand that there is ultimately no separation between everyday life and so-called spirituality.

Harmony - as in music so in life

Daniel Perret works as a music therapist with young children at a day clinic of Brive hospital. He has also led weekly music ateliers in a variety of different settings, in a prison, with adult disabled people, with unemployed people.

He trained with Bob Moore in Transpersonal Psychology & Spiritual Healing at Psykisk Center, Ringköbing, Denmark between 1979 &1999. He has a university degree in economics.

He leads training programmes and courses on "Therapy & Music" in France, Ireland and Switzerland.

The general structure of the courses

During the training programme personal experience will be at the centre of our common research. Dream interpretation, energy exercises, relaxation, body work, grounding, dance, individual and group improvisations, painting, intuition, feelings, musicality and meditation will be an important part of our exploration together. Different techniques and approaches to music-therapy will be explored as well as aspects of bodywork & movement.

    Therapy &Music

Whilst our usual expression enables us to experience everyday practical communication in areas like work, shopping, role distribution, etc. the aim of spontaneous artistic expression is to allow deeper layers of  feeling, our subconscious or higher consciousness and its invisible dimensions to be expressed and revealed. The use of non-verbal language in music, dancing, or painting encourages the pure expression of feeling.

Therapy through art starts a self healing process that allows different parts of our being to dialogue and 'breathe', helping thus their progressive harmonisation. In order for this process to become progressive it is essential to establish a connection to our inner source that lies beyond emotions, beyond suffering and the traumas of life. The expression of emotions, though often a necessary step, cannot be an aim in itself.

The field of sound, music or art therapy is vast. There exists a diversity of approaches. My approach seeks to train people to be therapist/ musicians (if only with simple gongs, singing bowls, percussion or other simple instruments) to develop self awareness and compassion, and the ability to listen with humility. During the training a range of experiences /methods using sounds or art to therapeutic ends will be offered.

Since the expression 'music therapy' is being already used and linked to a specific history and context, we prefer to use the term 'therapy & music' or 'musician-therapist'. Although you do not need to be a classically or traditionally trained musician, you will learn to use either your voice or any instrument (from simple chanting bowls and bells to more complex ones if you wish). In our approach the role of musician-therapist, is not limited to a dialogue with musical instruments. It includes talking where necessary, and can draw upon other therapeutic methods if the client requires it (body therapy is very helpful in going deeper into rhythms or dance as well as grounding, dream interpretation, energy work, other facets of art-therapy (drawing, dance e.g.).

It is essential to have explored through one's own experience the harmonising potential of sound, colour, energy and what they can induce. The most complete observation tool we know of, is the refinement of our own perception in order to detect the impacts of energy, sound and art on the different levels : physical, subconscious/etheric, emotional, mental and spiritual. To learn how to reach into our own well and express what we find there is synonymous to living our own destiny, our reason for being here now – and will fundamentally stay linked to the respect and the liberation of all sentient beings, including ourselves.

As all psychotherapy, art-therapy is not trying to be a substitute for medicine, allopathic, homeopathic, eastern or traditional.

    The Science of Spiritual Healing)

    Marie & Daniel Perret

    Blancheville House, Co. Kilkenny, Ireland

    • We are offering a series of workshops on the Science of Spiritual healing where we will present an in depth study and practical approach to healing, subtle energy and consciousness. Spiritual Healing involves a growing awareness of the interaction between all the levels within an individual, allowing them to become aligned to the spiritual level. We aim to guide participants to greater self awareness, understanding of energy and consciousness – which will naturally increase their sensitivity and means of helping others. Our approach aims to develop a deep respect of all beings; any progress will be reflected in the way we relate to others in our daily life and to nature in general.

Through experiential work with the energy fields and chakras, participants will be guided into a deep process of self healing, allowing them to transform blockages and difficulties and develop an increasing connection to intuition and sensitivity. We will be working with energy awareness exercises and progressive meditations that gradually increase clarity and awareness, thus allowing the connection to our qualities and our Essence to grow stronger.

The understanding of the energy fields and their harmonisation is based on an exact science. We work with the 7 main chakras, 21 secondary chakras and some 30 other points on and around the body on precise locations. Each point, each structure connects us to a number of defined levels of consciousness. Our approach is largely inspired by the teachings of the Irish Healer Bob Moore (1928-2008).

     Content :

      • Structure and function of the human energy fields
      • Real contact with the spiritual dimension
